Studies in the East Palaearctic species of the genus Agrilus DAHL, 1823 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) Part I.

Abstract

This work represents the first of a series of papers about the East Palaearctic species of the genus Agrilus (Coleoptera, Buprestidae). One new subspecies A. sibiricus fukushimensis ssp. n. is described, A. alutaceicollis is recognized as a valid species, one subspecies is elevated to species level, twenty‑four new synonymies are established, three species are recorded for the first time from new territory, and lectotypes are designated from study of type material. Nine species are illustrated.

New Agrilus DAHL, 1823 species from Asia (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

Abstract

Eight new species of the genus Agrilus from Asia are described: dilatometatibialis sp.n., souliei sp.n., holzschuhi sp.n., chiangdaoensis sp.n., wittemani sp.n. shaowensis sp.n., lineatomaculatus sp.n., pacholatkoi sp.n. and A. meliboeiformis is discussed. All species and aedeagi of known males are illustrated.

Studies in the East Palaearctic species of the genus Agrilus (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) Part II.

Abstract

Second of a series about the East Palaearctic species of the genus Agrilus (Coleoptera, Buprestidae). One new subspecies A. pekinensis accolai ssp.n. is described, A. alazon Lewis is recognised as a subspecies of A. decoloratus Kerremans, twenty new synonymies are established, six species are recorded for the first time from new territory, and lectotypes are designated from study of type material.

Revision of the genus Coomaniella (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

Abstract

Two subgenera Coomaniella (Tuberniella) subgen. nov. and Coomaniella (Strbaniella) subgen. nov. are described. Coomaniella (Coomaniellina) Bílı, 1974 is considered a synonym of Coomaniella (s. str.); 8 species groups in the nominotypical subgenus are established and diagnosed, 12 new species of Coomaniella are described: C. bicolor sp. nov., C. biformissima sp. nov., C. chinensis sp. nov., C. daoensis sp. nov., C. isolata sp. nov., C. lao sp. nov., C. nativa sp. nov., C. orlovi sp. nov., C. pacholatkoi sp. nov., C. prolonga sp. nov., C. sausa sp. nov. and C. siniaevi sp. nov. Coomaniella kurosawai Bílı is considered new junior subjective synonym of Coomaniella purpurascens Baudon. All species are keyed, illustrated and full references are given.

Eight new species of the genus Agrilus (Coleoptera, Buprestidae) are described: A. champasak sp. nov., A. myopic sp. nov., A. robustipenis sp. nov., A. pseudoostrinus sp. nov., A. gaoligong sp. nov., A. notoclavus sp. nov., A. charismaticus sp. nov., A. horaki sp. nov.

Revision of the Agrilus cyaneoniger species group

Abstract

Agrilus cyaneoniger species group is established and diagnosed, two new species of Agrilus are described: A. lubopetri sp. nov., A. qinling sp. nov. Agrilus agnatus Kerremans is considered as valid species. All species are keyed and illustrated. Lectotypes of Agrilus auristernum Obenberger, Agrilus agnatus Kerremans, Agrilus bifoveolatus Kerremans are designated.

A comparative study of the abdomen in the family Buprestidae

Abstract

A survey is made of the major features of the abdominal arrangement within Buprestidae, as well as comparision with representatives from families Byrrhidae, Dryopidae, Elateridae, Eucnemidae and Heteroceridae. Evolutionary trends in development of particular abdominal part are reviewed and the polarities are indicated. The systematic position and phylogenetic relationships of taxa are discussed. All significant structures and evolutionary schemes are illustrated.

A new species of the Agrilus (subgen. Igagrilus) Kurosawa from Laos (Coleoptera: Buprestidae)

Abstract

Status of the subgenus Igagrilus Kurosawa, 1981 is discussed. Agrilus (Igagrilus) sausai sp. n., the second new species of the subgenus Igagrilus is described from Laos. Agrilus (Igagrilus) elongatissimus Kurosawa, 1981 is diagnosed and new faunistic records are given. Both species are keyed and illustrated.
